Flag something for the customer, or report an issue

Two different tools, for two different situations.

Flag for the customer — while you’re on a task during a visit, you can flag something you want the customer to know about (a torn liner, low water, a worn part). The flag rides along on the service report the customer gets after the visit, so they see exactly what you saw.

Report an issue — for something the office needs to handle (not the customer). From the Reports tab, start a new report, describe what you found, add photos, and send it. It goes to your office, not the customer.

Rule of thumb: if the customer should know, flag it on the visit; if the office needs to act, report it.

Flagging something doesn’t leave the task unfinished. These are two separate things: whether a task is done, and whether you’ve flagged it. You can complete a task and still flag it — “I cleaned the filter, and the housing is cracked.” You can also flag something without completing the task. Marking a flag never blocks you from finishing the visit, and finishing the visit never clears your flag.
