Set up your service levels
A service level is a thing you sell. Full Service, Chemical Only, Filter Clean, a pool opening.
It’s the most load-bearing setting in PoolHelm. It decides three things at once: what your tech does, what you charge, and which imported customers match to it.
Find it at the Service Levels setup step, or later at Settings → Service Levels.
What’s on one
- A name. Use what your team already says out loud. If you’re importing customers, use the name that system uses — PoolHelm matches imported customers to service levels by name.
- Which phases are included — Clean, Test, Treat, Equipment. These become your tech’s task list at every stop.
- Whether it’s recurring. Switch it off for one-time work like filter cleans and openings.
- A rate. Required, and yours.
- Active or not, so you can build a level before you sell it.
About the rate
Type it as per visit or per month. PoolHelm shows the other one underneath — enter $150 a visit for a weekly customer and it echoes “$649.50 a month at weekly service.”
The grey figure PoolHelm suggests is a regional average. A starting point, not your price.
Check first. One keystroke accepts the suggested rate and it becomes your number. Accept it deliberately. A rate you didn't choose is a rate you'll still be charging in six months.
Adding one
Use Add Service Level. You get presets — three recurring, four one-time — plus a custom option. Pick one you already have and PoolHelm selects the existing level rather than creating a duplicate.
How many do you need? Fewer than you think. Most routes run on two or three.
