The Planner: assign, drag, and save
Routes → Planner lays out your techs and days with their stops, a live map beside them, and a Calendar view alongside. Focus mode narrows it to one tech or one day.
What you do here
- Build Best Routes assigns every active customer to a tech, a day, and a stop order.
- Drag a stop to another tech or day, or reorder within a day. Drop it and save.
- Work the Unassigned list at the top — signed, but never scheduled. Each has an Assign button.
A route holds up to 25 stops. That’s the working ceiling for one tech on one day.
What the drive numbers count
Each tech header carries a weekly total, “~2h 19m driving this week”; each day its own, “~53m driving · 8 stops”. Real minutes, measured on the map that draws your route lines.
Counted: the drive out to the first stop, and every leg between stops. Not counted: the drive home — your tech’s commute, not your company’s working time.
Reading the map
- Numbered circles show route order.
- A start point marks where the day begins — a house for home, a briefcase for your shop. Hide start points clears them.
- The line runs outbound only. No line back at the end of the day.
- PoolHelm won’t invent a start point. A tech set to start from the office, with no office location saved, starts from home instead. No usable address at all means no start point, and a drive figure labelled as measured from their first stop.
When a number is a placeholder
Drag a stop and the order changes at once, but the drive minutes aren’t re-measured until routes build again. PoolHelm labels the figure instead of showing a stale one. Treat it as “roughly”; Build Best Routes settles it.
An empty day stays empty. A tech with no stops opens to nothing scheduled, not an empty route.
