Your weekly plan vs. today's route
PoolHelm keeps two layers. Knowing which one you’re editing explains most of scheduling.
The weekly plan
The repeating pattern: which customer belongs to which tech, on which day, in what order. You build it in the Planner.
Today’s route
The live copy of that plan for one date. Your techs work from it, Today shows it, and it’s what carries over, gets reassigned, or gets skipped for weather.
Every night at around 5:00 AM Central, PoolHelm reads the weekly plan and builds the next day’s routes from it.
Why the split matters
- Editing today’s route doesn’t change next week. Reassign a stop, or skip one for a storm — that’s a one-day change. Next week rebuilds from the plan.
- Editing the weekly plan doesn’t rewrite today. The Planner says so at the top: “Changes you make here apply to each tech’s routes starting at 5am Central tomorrow. To change today’s routes, use the Today page.”
- A service week runs Monday through Sunday. Overnight, PoolHelm checks whether a customer has already been visited this service week and won’t add a second visit on its own. You can still drag one onto a second day.
- You set the shape of the week. PoolHelm only builds routes on the days marked under Days you service. A day you left off has no tech working it, so nothing lands there.
