Can I text my customers?
No. PoolHelm does not send text messages to your customers today — every message it sends goes by email. Service reports, invoices, weather notices, and referral invites are all email.
The control you can see does nothing
There is a text-message consent control on the customer form, and a matching pill on the customer’s page. Both are switched off and labeled “Coming Very Soon.” They are visible so you know texting is on the way.
Check first. Nothing you set on that control is recorded, and no customer is texted — not even one who told you in person that it's fine.
Texting customers is regulated. Doing it properly takes real consent, real opt-out handling, and a registration that takes time. An honest “not yet” beats a control that half-works.
What texting will cover when it turns on
Three things, and only three:
- A weather reschedule — and the follow-up when service is back on.
- Service completed — a short note that the visit is done.
- An invoice — with the link to pay.
No appointment reminders, no “your tech is 20 minutes away,” no marketing. Two to ten messages a month for a typical customer.
The texts will be branded as your business, not PoolHelm. Customers will reply STOP to opt out, START to opt back in, and HELP for help. That handling is already built and waiting.
Nothing for you to do now. When texting goes live we’ll say so, and explain how to collect consent before anything sends.
